Attendance Policy / Lates

Regular and punctual attendance at school is a vital factor in the successful completion of the courses and programs offered. The work in elementary schools is such that students are advised to not miss instruction in the classroom, assignments, and we do not advise extended holidays during instructional time. Responsibility for attendance and punctuality is placed with students, and their parents. Cooperation between the home and school is encouraged. Students with a habitual attendance problem.

Absentee Check Program

The purpose of the Absentee Check Program is to ensure that no child is lost or experiencing problems from home to the school.

How It Works:
In order to carry out such a program, the complete cooperation of parents is necessary. Please call the school at 476 2344 and leave a message with a staff member or on the recorder prior to 8:30 am to report your child's absence or let us know if your child is going to be late. Shortly after the morning and afternoon attendance is taken, our secretary, the principal or other designated person(s) will check for children who are absent or late. Parents of students with unconfirmed absences will be contacted usually by 9:00 am to determine the reason for a student absence. It is very important that students are encouraged to be on time for school, this is part of good attendance and that students arriving late check in at the office as to ensure attendance is accurate before we begin making calls home.

It is extremely important for the welfare of your child that all telephone numbers (home, work, babysitter or neighbour) is kept current in our school records. Please contact our administrative assistant when any of this important information changes. This will affect our ability to contact you when needed.
will be referred to Alberta Education Attendance Board as needed and appropriate by the principal.
