Recess
Provincial legislation requires that students receive recess breaks. Because recess is an important aspect of a child's day it is stressed that each child participates in this break. Children too ill to participate in regular recess are likely too ill to be at school. If there are unusual or extreme circumstances, please contact the teacher.
Field Trips
Teachers at Princeton often plan out of classroom experiences for students throughout the year as a supplement to the school program. Parents will be notified in advance of all field trips requiring private or public transportation. A completed, returned permission slip is required of each child before he/she can attend. It is important to note that in almost all cases schools are not permitted to accept phone calls as "informed consent" so please encourage your child to use their agenda and routines to ensure notes go home and are returned signed.
No child will be refused the right to participate in field experiences due to lack of funds. Special circumstances may be discussed with the principal in confidence.
Field trips will be under the supervision of a lead teacher. Field trips may be dependent upon parental help for supervision. Your help is appreciated. Parents and volunteers are considered as agents of the Board, for liability purposes.
Costs of field trips and entrance fees (where applicable) will be assessed on a per pupil basis. The Princeton Parent Volunteer Association (PPVA) kindly allocated $60.00 per student to help reduce costs.
