Cogito K-1 at Princeton School for the 2025-2026 School Year

We are excited to announce that Princeton School will be offering Cogito programming for students in K-1, in addition to our regular program, in the 2025-2026 school year. Please contact the office at 780-476-2344 to learn more.

COGITO INFORMATION SESSION AND SCHOOL TOUR

At Princeton, we are committed to helping parents make informed decisions as they choose a school or program for their child. Parents must understand the program's expectations to make an informed choice.

The academic rigour of the Cogito program is very demanding.

  • Is your child ready for the challenge?
  • Are you, the parents, prepared to work with your child daily to support their success?

We will host a Cogito Information Session on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 6:00 pm. This will include an overview of the Cogito program and an opportunity for parents to tour the school.

To register for the information session, please email princeton@epsb.ca by February 10, 2025.

COGITO KINDERGARTEN APPLICATIONS & 'MEETINGS FOR SUCCESS':

All Kindergarten applicants interested in the Cogito Program will be required to participate in a 'Meeting for Success'. This is an opportunity for prospective students to engage in age-appropriate tasks presented in a Cogito setting while being observed by the teachers.

School Administration will use the evidence and observations collected during the ‘Meeting for Success’ to engage parents in a conversation about the child’s readiness for the expectations and demands of the program. These meetings are an important way to connect with our new families and students, and this connection is vital to student success in the Cogito program.

GRADE 1 NEW REGISTRATIONS:

New registrants interested in the Cogito Program will be asked to provide a copy of their latest Progress Report. School Administration can use this to engage parents in a conversation about the child’s readiness for the expectations and demands of the program. Levels of achievement are not used as the sole determining factor for the child’s readiness for the program.
